Abstract

The challenges in the field of restoration and development of cities and settlement systems that await us shortly will require us to make competent design and program decisions, and confident knowledge of the entire range of architectural and urban planning methodologies and precedents that the 20th century left us with. At the very beginning of the century, the outstanding figure of the Englishman Ebenezer Howard (1850-1928) appeared, the author of the concept of the “garden city,” whose theoretical legacy and influence on practice do not lose their relevance to this day.
