Abstract: An analysis of the complexes of fossil insects of the Northeast Asia showed that Cholevinus sibiricus was a common element of the Pleistocene steppe tundra biota. This species is represented in all types of the steppe tundra entomofaunas, preferring more humid and cold kinds of steppe tundra. The wide distribution of Ch. sibiricus in the Pleistocene was enabled by the high productiveness of the steppe tundra and the absence of its competitors (Silphidae).
