Abstract

A new key for genera оf the tribe Dacnusini іs proposed. It differs from the known keys by V. I. Tobias (1986, 1998) in usage о! some new characters аnd of those used before according 10 а new view оf importance. For example, according 10 the author, root dichotomia іs based оп the taxonomic morphologic characters of structure and shape of mandibles, including quantity, shape and arrangement оf teeth, аs well as structure аnd shape of face, and others. Regular disposition of hairs оn subdistal margin of apical tergums of abdomen 15 considered by author 10 be а character having limited taxonomic significance because of its independently repeated appearance as parallelism in different genera and genus-group of the tribe. A brief review of 30 Palaearctic genera of Dacnusini іs given. A nomenclature, diagnosis and composition are made for each genus. Neopolemon Prptsh. 1999, which is described as a subgenus in the genus Polemochartus Schulz, 1911, is elevated to a valid genus. The genus Coloneurella van Achterberg, 1976 іs excluded from the tribe Dacnusini аnd іs placed into the tribe Alysiini
