dc.description.abstract	The results of research on mathematical models of Aphis gossypii behaviour for the agrocenosis are presented. A scheme of making short-term forecasts of the pest number using standard mathematical procedures is proposed. The forecast of populating water-melons with Aphis gossypii in 1999 is given as an example.	-
