Abstract

As a result of research done based on enormous material about weevils of Ukraine, 6 species new for the investigated region have been discovered, one of them being also new for the science Brachysomus sulcatus, sp. n. described from the mountainous part of the Crimea іs similar to B. verae Kostal in the shape of the head. Trophic ties of the new species with the saprotrophic fungi of Qudemansiella mucida (Fr.) Hoehn., Coniophora sp., Peniophora sp., Coriolus sp. (Basidiomycetes); Cytospora sp., Pullularia pullulans (de Bary) Berkh (Deuteromycetes); Valsa sp. (Ascomycetes). During a careful analysis of external morphological characteristics and structure of male copulatory organ of Omiamima hanaki Frivaldsky, it was established that its variety is actually an independent species O. montana Petri, stat. n. A number of species have been found which were known up to now only by typical samples. For Otiorhynchus (Asphaerorhynchus) zhantievi Korotyaev, trophic ties with microsporangia of junipers Juniperus oxicedrus L. and J. excelsa Bieb.
