A cellular automata simulation model was developed that reproduces the evolution of the consumer market, describes the sales dynamics of a wholesale trade organization and allows predicting the condition of its commercial activity. The main advantage of this model is the possibility of its improvement by taking into account any additional parameters and carrying out simulations, the results of which will allow conclusions to be drawn about the reaction of the consumer market to changes in certain factors without conducting full-scale tests that are costly and sometimes impossible at all. The author proposed a comparative description of these methods, the use of which will make it possible to decide on the choice of one or another forecast development method depending on the specifics of a specific task and the existing restrictions.uk_UA
