Makukh O.I. Investigation of the essence and interpretation of the concept of enterprise competitiveness. Analyzing the different approaches of scientists to the essence of the concept of "competitiveness", we can conclude that this category is a little research, the essence of which is: the ability to secure, retain and expand the niche of the entity in the market under the influence of destabilizing forces; stable market position; dynamic nature; providing the enterprise with the sustainability and ability to withstand the destabilizing effects of the environment. From the above, it follows that the essence of the interpretation of "competitiveness" needs clarification. In the definition of this category, we consider it necessary to lay down the requirements of such basic principles as essential completeness and systematic nature.. We agree with Sudomir S.M., who believes that competitiveness is a recognized and realized market competitiveness of socio-economic systems, which is materialized in the form of goods or services. We also support the position of Ponomarщva M.S., who states that “competitiveness of entrepreneurial activity should be understood as a set of comparative valuation indicators by which the effectiveness of all actions and results that took place in the enterprise is analyzed, thereby creating a basis for strategic planning the continued functioning of the economy or organization in a market economy. The study of the essence of the definitions used in the modern literature has led to the conclusion that the most reasonable is the position of Sudomir MR, which will provide an efficient market economy of economic entities where under competitiveness, one should understand the ability of the enterprise to realize with the highest efficiency the formed interaction with potential subjects of the external competitive environment aimed at achieving the main goal.
