Компоненти змісту навчання читанню студентів із рівнем підготовки «Beginners»

Abstract

Визначено компоненти змісту навчання читанню під час викладання іноземних мов, розглянуто функції, які виконує викладач і студент у двосторонньому процесі навчання читанню. Розкрито роль читання в процесі опанування іноземної мови. Навчання читанню має здійснюватися на свідомій основі та із залученням студентів до самостійної активної роботи з оволодіння складними навичками й уміннями під час вивчення англійської мови.

Reading is an independent form of speech activity, which provides written form of communication. It occupies one of the main places of use, importance and accessibility. The components of the reading content training during foreign languages teaching are defined, the functions of teacher and student in the bilateral reading training process are considered in the research paper. The role of reading in the process of foreign language learning is developed. If students master English reading, that is, they learn to receive information from the printed text, it allows them expanding and enriching themselves with knowledge and enjoying their activities in the learning language. As the mean of reading information obtaining, reading plays the role mainly of silently reading. It is the application of the formed verbal, lexical and grammatical skills for obtaining information from the text as from the complete entity. If students practically master reading as a type of speech activity, that is, they learn obtaining information from the text, it allows solving educational and developmental tasks more successfully. During the reading, it's important to ensure that reading comprehension is achieved through the recognition of grammatical forms; grammatical signals, the grammatical structure of the sentence, and not only through the knowledge of words. Reading creates favorable conditions for memorizing and, consequently, for stronger assimilation of the educational material of speech. In the reading training process it is necessary to emphasize the important role of forming in the first place its procedural aspect, the mastery of which also provides the content and semantic aspect. Reading training should be done on the conscious base and on involving students in independent active work on mastering complex skills and abilities during the study of English. The great role of reading is in mastering of spoken, lexical, grammatical skills and in that help which it provides in the formation of listening comprehension and speaking.
