Abstract: The Global Food Security Index (GFSI) shows a decline in global food security for the second consecutive year and looks at physical and financial availability, food quality and safety, and natural resources and their sustainability. The purpose of the study is to determine the foundations and trends of food security in Ukraine in the context of vulnerability to economic, climatic and geopolitical shocks. Military actions on the territory of Ukraine had an extremely negative impact on the functioning of food systems. Complete supply chains of agricultural products were broken, seed companies were disrupted on a large area. The consequences led to the emergence of serious threats to global food security, namely: further increase in world food prices; global jump in inflation.
