| Abstract: | Administration of a syrup preparation of ‘Apitonus' is shown to increase protein concentration, lysozyme activity, titres of agglutinins, levels of free aminoacids, and glucose and fructose concentrations in haemolymph of adult honey bee after the treatment against Varroa jacobsoni. The changes of these biochemical parameters suggest a normalization of metabolism and, in particular, of the process of reserve accumulation needed for hibernation. |
