Abstract:	This work has come as the first attempt to give а systematic list of families of beetles occurring in Ukraine, classified according to J. Lawrence (1982, 1991). Each family is provided with а brief constitutional and biological description of audlt and larvae stages, accompanied with drawings, for the most part original. The number of species in each family is stated both for Ukraine, and elsewhere.
