Abstract: Larval development within and between populations of mass and coumon oak defoliating Tortricidae were studied in field observations and experiments. The ecological factors controlling larval population quality and species ratio on the low and middle densities are 1) relative time of feeding beginning between species and its accordance о foliage development; 2) food deprivation after hutching; 3) after hutching migration; 4) food quality, - which reflects current host physiology; - 5) food sufficiency; 6) abiotic environmental conc'tions; 7) disturbances during feeding activity from other larvae or parasitoids ard predators. Each of thise factors can effect significant gqualitative chaages in population and multispecies -complex. All of them ca bе involved in studies of реa foci and refugions ecology.
