dc.description.abstractThe theoretical basis of the food security strategy of the region was investigated in the article. The economic essence of strategy and its role in the system of strategic management of the region was determined, the main functions were outlined. The main and auxiliary strategies for ensuring food security are considered. It is proved that food security in the regions determines their socioeconomic status and is a fundamental basis of Ukraine's economic security. Therefore, food security management should become one of the key objectives of the strategic development of the regions. It is established that regional food security strategy is an integral strategy of balanced and stable development of types of economic activity that forming a full cycle of logistical support, production and distribution of vital food products in a sufficient volume that guarantees the needs of a healthy and active life of all the population of the region not depending on the impact of external and internal threats. It is proved that the implementation of the strategy for ensuring food security requires the development and mutual harmonization of both the interregional and inter-sectoral level of basic and auxiliary strategies. The main strategies have a direct impact on the implementation of the basic functions of food security, namely: physical and economic availability of food products for all segments of the population, their quality, usefulness and safety, as well as the continuity of supply. Accordingly, the following key strategies have been identified: the poverty reduction strategy, the agribusiness and agricultural development strategy, the food market strategy and the strategy for creating a food reserve. Implementation of the considered strategies in the complex is intended to create a multiplier effect that will contribute to the achievement of the overall strategy for the region's development and food security of the population.uk_UA
