Розповсюдження, етіологія та ускладнення артриту скакального суглобу коней (оглядова стаття)

Abstract

У даній статі розглядаються фактори, що зумовлюють поширеність артриту скакального суглобу серед коней. Описується анатомія суглоба, його значення та роль у моториці руху тварини, етіологія даного захворювання. Розглянуті дані інших досліджень стосовно розповсюдження артриту та аналіз цієї проблематики, що описана у літературі. Також обґрунтовується взаємозв’язок між видом експлуатації коня та можливою появою запалення в суглобах певного типу. Детально описані вірогідні несприятливі наслідки артриту скакального суглоба у коней за умови неефективної діагностики та несвоєчасного лікування. У статі розглянуті патогенетичні механізми даного захворювання. Надається обґрунтування актуальності подальших досліджень та необхідність пошуку нових методів своєчасної діагностики й ефективного лікування.

This article examines the factors behind the prevalence of hock arthritis in horses. The anatomy of the joint, its significance and role in the motility of movement of the animal, the etiology of this disease are described. Some of the factors that lead to the occurrence of arthritis are the complexity of the morphology of the hock joint, violation of the norms of operation and feeding of animals and the development of initial infectious disease. Due to the lack of nutrients in feed and the difficulty of monitoring in compliance with established standards, it is recommended to use additionally dietary supplements containing hyaluronic acid, sodium chondroitin salt, vitamin E and manganese to prevent disease, as well as maintain the condition of the joint. This is of particular importance for young animals and those that are in active training and carry increased physical activity. The article reviews data from other studies on the prevalence of arthritis and analyzes the problems described in the literature. The relationship between the type of horse exploitation and the possible occurrence of inflammation in a certain type of joint is also considered. Potential adverse effects of hock arthritis in horses are described in detail, provided that diagnosis is ineffective and treatment is delayed. These are degenerative joint disease, the appearance of osteophytes, decreased joint mobility, which can lead to ankylosis. In the case of infected arthritis, these are fistulas, swelling of the extremities, abscesses, and septic fever. The transition of the disease to the chronic stage is also possible, which leads to deforming osteoarthritis with its characteristic bone growths. Periodic cartilage damage and degenerative changes in the subchondral bone make the joint vulnerable to fracture in the area of ​​these injuries. These issues are especially relevant in case of young horses, whose skeleton is not yet fully formed and carries a lot of stress during training. The article discusses the pathogenic mechanisms of this disease. The urgency of further research and the need to search for new methods of timely diagnosis and effective treatment are substantiated.
