Monitoring for the circulation of emergent diseases among wild birds in Southern and Northern Ukraine in 2017 within the framework of CBEP UP-4 project

Abstract

Avian influenza (AI) and Newcastle disease (ND) belong to especially dangerous avian diseases, which are widely spread in the world, and outbreaks are constantly detected in different countries. Potential capability of AI to cross species barrier, as well as to cause diseases in humans with severe consequences, raise particular concerns. In conjunction with these factors, it is necessary to conduct constant monitoring for the circulation of these infections in natural reservoir in frames of One Health conception. Грип птиці (ГП) та ньюкаслська хвороба (НХ) належать до особливо небезпечних захворювань птахів, широко поширених у світі, спалахи яких постійно реєструються в різних країнах. Особливе занепокоєння викликає потенційна здатність ГП долати міжвидовидовий бар'єр, а також викликати захворювання з тяжкими наслідками в людей. У зв´язку з цим необхідно проводити постійний моніторинг циркуляції даних інфекцій у природному резервуарі в рамках концепції "Єдиного здоров'я".
